We decided to expand our experience of the area around Hemingbrough on 17 July 2020. We were interested in having another look at the stunning church (St Mary) with its amazing steeple which I am sure many will have seen at least from the motorway or the train. We wanted to take the footpath to the Ouse and walk a short distance along the Pennine Trail. We passed Newhay Lakes, a fish farming venture, where, long ago, I have accompanied students. It was great to see it flourishing, very well-maintained and attractive.
